Naormi Meiija Wang is a Chinese-born artist based in New York. She is deeply interested in Freudian psychology and human nature. Naormi works in various media and often with the human body, which she distorts, overlaps and ultimately reveals in dream-like states. Her recent work is centered on photography, moving images and video installation. She also works on drawing, painting, printmaking, jewelry design and fashion design.

Each piece is a one of a kind and will never be identically replicated. She refers to her pieces as “parts have hands built right into them”. Looking for beauty in the design of the parts, she contemplates them, and then aggregates them into a being. Her intention is to add humanity to the inhuman, to give them a personality, a character of their own.
